Connie's Priorities

My unique combination of both business and education experience gives me a distinct advantage in finding long-term solutions for economic growth and education funding.

We need tax reform that benefits all with policies that encourage job creation and allow for fair funding and local control in decision making for our cities and our schools. We need to be better stewards of the dollars we have by restoring fiscal responsibility, eliminating waste, and setting reasonable priorities. We also need to be better stewards of our precious natural resources by protecting our lake environment for our children and future generations.

I promise the people of this district, that if I am elected to represent them at the State Capitol, I will work hard on these issues:

PROTECTING OUR POCKETBOOKS

Connie Doepke knows Minnesotans are struggling with high prices for gas and groceries, job losses and a tough economy. That’s why Connie will be a voice of reason on taxes and fight wasteful government spending. Now more than ever, it’s time for lawmakers to focus on growing our economy, improving our job climate and finding smarter ways to balance the state budget than simply raising taxes on Minnesota families.

WORLD-CLASS SCHOOLS

Connie Doepke served local students and parents for eight years on the Wayzata School Board. As our State Representative, Connie will work to secure equitable state funding for our suburban schools. Lake Minnetonka area school districts have not benefitted from recent changes to Minnesota’s complicated education funding
formula. This formula needs reform, and Connie will fight for that.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

Connie Doepke knows we live in a very special environment and that our quality of life is tied directly to its protection. Connie’s experience of being raised by a father who was an environmental scientist and educator gives her a unique understanding of the need for us to be better stewards of our natural resources. At the Capitol, Connie will be an outspoken advocate for preserving our lake environment and way of life.

Lake Minnetonka is our most precious natural resource in this district. Connie supports ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of new invasive species, eradicate existing invasive species, and improve water quality. She will continue to work with our local experts to protect our lake area for future generations.
